Hair Brush Black BG Final.jpeg

BRILLIANTLY SIMPLE.

STORY

The idea for Root One began with a simple frustration.

The hairbrush market kept focusing on the visible part of the hair while treating the scalp as an afterthought. Yet every strand begins at the root.

I also kept seeing the same design compromise: thin wire bristles made comfortable by attaching plastic balls to their tips. The wires could bend. The tips could catch accumulated hair or detach with use. Cleaning the brush became a struggle—and brushing should never feel stressful.

I wanted to start again.

Instead of disguising a sharp wire with an attached cap, I chose a thicker copper needle with a rounded end built into its profile. Instead of a synthetic plastic cushion, I selected responsive natural rubber. Instead of a molded plastic shell, I chose walnut for its strength, balance, and natural warmth.

Each decision answered a specific problem.

Root One is the result: a brush designed not only around the hair, but around the experience of reaching the scalp.

DESIGN

WALNUT FOR STRUCTURE.

Walnut gives Root One its form and balance. Dense enough to feel substantial yet comfortable in the hand, it supports the needle array while giving the instrument a distinctly warm character.

Its natural grain replaces artificial texture. Its color deepens with time. No two pieces are precisely alike.

NATURAL RUBBER FOR MOVEMENT.

The needles require support—but they also need freedom to respond.

Natural rubber creates a flexible suspension beneath the needle field. It absorbs force, distributes pressure, and allows the brush to follow the shape of the head.

GOLD-PLATED COPPER FOR CONTACT.

Copper provides a thicker, more stable needle structure than fine wire bristles. A smooth 24K gold-plated finish completes the point of contact.

Three materials. Three different responsibilities. One continuous experience.

PHILOSOPHY

NOTHING WITHOUT PURPOSE.

The best design does not demand attention. It earns trust through use.

Every curve, material, and point of contact must improve the experience. Walnut provides structure. Natural rubber provides response. Gold-plated copper provides precision.

Nothing added to disguise a compromise. Nothing decorative pretending to be functional.

We are not interested in making more things. We are interested in making better ones—objects defined by clarity, permanence, and a place in daily life.

Purpose in every decision.
Performance in every detail.
Pursuit without end.

ENVIRONMETAL IMPACT

Fewer materials. More intention.

Environmental responsibility isn’t an added feature. It is built into every material decision.

The Anson Hair Brush replaces conventional plastic components with ethically sourced walnut, 100% natural rubber, and gold-plated copper. Each material is selected for its function, character, and ability to remain in use.

The packaging follows the same philosophy. Its compact 8 × 4 × 2-inch form protects the brush without unnecessary bulk and is made entirely from recyclable materials.

No plastic. No excess. Nothing without purpose.

Built with care. Made to last.
